Fred Vipond

Fred serves as director of sacred music for St. Stephen Parish in East Grand Rapids. Previously, he served parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago for more than 30 years. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in organ performance from the University of Michigan, where he was a student of Dr. James Kibbie. Initial studies in organ and piano were taken with Edward Grinwalds of Hastings; and a love of liturgical music took root in lessons with Joseph Sullivan at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Grand Rapids.
