Deanery Happy Hours! Board members want to meet the musicians of our diocese. Music directors have been contacted about when and where, but this isn’t just for directors! Here are the dates and places so far: West Deanery Tuesday, Jan. 28 4-6pm @ Paisley Pig (Grand Haven, MI) North Deanery Friday, Feb. 7th 4-6pm @ Archival Brewing Company (Belmont, MI) South Deanery Monday, Feb. 24th 7-9pm @ Founders Brewing Company (Grand Rapids, MI) GR, Spanish Parishes (Potluck) (Tentative): Jan 25 or Feb 1, 6:00 PM at St. Mary Activity Center. Monday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. Prayer of Peace in the spirit of Taizé, at St. Mary’s downtown. Gathered in the presence of Christ, in this ecumenical Christian prayer we sing uncomplicated songs, allowing the mystery of God to become tangible through the beauty of simplicity. This contemplative monthly prayer features music, scripture, candlelight, prayers for the world and an extended period of silence for meditation. Note that the prayer will happen on the third Monday of the month (instead of the second Monday) because of the holy day on the 9th. | prayerofpeacegr.org

In 2025, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Grand Rapids, MI will host a year-long choral festival called Palestrina 500, celebrating the quincentennial birthday of the great Renaissance composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-94).
