Monday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. Prayer of Peace in the spirit of Taiz\u00e9, at St. Mary\u2019s downtown. Gathered in the presence of Christ, in this ecumenical Christian prayer we sing uncomplicated songs, allowing the mystery of God to become tangible through the beauty of simplicity. This contemplative monthly prayer features music, scripture, candlelight, prayers for the world and an extended period of silence for meditation. Note that the prayer will happen on the third Monday of the month (instead of the second Monday) because of the holy day on the 9th. | prayerofpeacegr.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Grand Rapids, MI will host a year-long choral festival called Palestrina 500, celebrating the quincentennial birthday of the great Renaissance composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-94).
